VAHPERD's Mission
VAHPERD is a professional association of educators that advocate quality programs in health, physical education, recreation, dance, and sport. The association seeks to facilitate the professional growth and development of its members through meaningful membership services, current research, best educational practices and legislation that will impact the profession. It is the vision of the Association to have a positive impact on society as a whole.
Strategic Goals
- To promote best practices within the fields we serve
- Partner with organizations that share our goals and mission.
- Provide leadership mentoring to members of VAHPERD.
- Provide leadership mentoring to VAHPERD TOYs.
- Maintain a useful structure and function for the organization.
- Improve educational outreach to our membership.
- Improve communication within the leadership team and with the membership.
- Recruit and retain additional members.
- Promote NASPE advocacy leadership skills on the state and local levels.
- Improve VAHPERD’s participation in solutions to combat childhood obesity.
- To provide members with appropriate services.
