Our Mission
The four sections of the General Division are City County Supervisors, College and University Chairs, Research, and Students.  These sections keep all Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance professionals up-to-date on the latest trends in instructional best practices and curriculum development at the local, state, and national level.  This includes public and private school teachers, college faculty, students, and administrators.

What We Do

The General Division is a great resource for information addressing quality instruction, student needs, current research, school division collaboration, DOE initiatives, and legislative issues affecting our profession.  Members are encouraged to submit articles to the newsletter and the Journal addressing these areas of interest.

How to Get Involved

Join us at the Conference!  Spread the word!  Talk to your colleagues about the value of being a member of their professional organization.  Throughout the year promote the state convention and encourage professionals to both attend and present.  At the convention, it is very important to attend the General Division meeting to receive valuable information about what has happened over the past year and considerations for the coming year.  Attending the convention and division meeting gives members an opportunity to become involved in the organization in a leadership capacity.  After holding the office of chair, one is eligible to become a candidate for a position on the Board of Directors.  At this level, division officers make informed decisions on policies, procedures, and budgetary matters affecting the
entire organization.  Become an active member of your division: PROMOTE AND SUPPORT!
