June 17 - 20 Vicki Miller (President-Elect), Mary Ann Laverty (VP-Elect Dance), and Henry Castelvecchi (Executive Director) went to Washington DC for the Leadership Development Conference with the American Alliance. They had an opportunity while they were there to sit down with Senators and Congressmen to talk about current issues in health, physical education, recreation, and dance. The topics included The Fitness Integrated with Teaching Kids Act (FIT Kids Act), Amendments to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, and The Carol M White Physical Education Program (PEP).
